The Television series 'The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin' begins with a humble journey searching for the other half of a medallion. From there the three main characters, Teddy Ruxpin, Grubby and Newton Gimmick use an ancient map to search the wide lands of Grundo, Rillonia and Ying for treasure. The treasure they seek eventually turns out to be not gold or jewels, but knowledge. When episode #65 rolls in things have been found and discovered, many adventures have been experienced and lots of new friends have been gained. Unlike most animated programs that focus only episode to episode for a plot (A good example is Scooby Doo), 'The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin' is a serial. This means day to day there is a unifying plot that starts from episode #1 and continues to episode #65. Fairly well animated and usually well written, the series won a number of awards in 1987 both in broadcast television and in tape rental sales.
.
Each animated episode is designed around a half hour program. Typically this means true runtime is approximately 21 to 22 minutes. There were 65 episodes completed by DiC with additional plans for more. The additional programs were never started.
